There are two types of fields that are mapped during your data migration, and we'll review how each works below.
Import2 has included as many standard field mappings as possible that are compatible between the two apps you connect. These mappings are done automatically, and don't require any additional setup on your part.
If you need to make changes - including editing, adding or removing any standard mappings, you may do so from the Settings > Configure Mappings of your migration dashboard. Check out our video tutorial how to edit your field mappings.
When you initiate your free sample migration with Import2, you will have the following options to migrate your custom fields:
Auto-Create Custom Fields
Import2 can automatically create and populate the custom fields for you.
This will be dependent on whether your new app supports this feature. If it is available, you will see this option during the sample migration setup prompt:
Manually Map Fields
You may opt to add and/or change mappings yourself. After your sample is complete, you can navigate to the Settings tab of your migration page and adjust the mappings as needed. This is available both if you opted to have us auto-create your custom fields, or not.
When you are finished adjusting your mappings, you will need to go back to your Summary tab, and click "Restart Sample Migration" to apply your changes in a new sample.
Please note! If your migration is in process, you may not change mappings until the migration is finished. If your full migration has already completed, you will first need to Undo the migration before you can change mappings and restart.
